Female Genital piercing; types and possible complications

Genital piercing is a form of body piercing that involves piercing a part of the genitalia, thus creating a suitable place for wearing different types of jewelry different. in genital piercing, a hole is made using a needle and a piece of jewelry is attached to the genital by threading it through the hole.

TYPES OF GENITAL PIERCING
The most common types of female genital piercing are:
  1. venus piercing
  2. clitoris piercing
  3. fourchette piercing
  4. horizontal clitoral hood piercing
  5. vertical clitoral hood piercing
  6. triangle piercing
  7. inner labia piercing
  8. outer labia piercing

  • bacterial infection
  • nerve damage
  • thick scars at the piercing site
  • allergic reactions due to jewelry
  • HIV
  • hepatitis B and C








 NB; Always use sterile and new piercing equipment and jewelry. Genital piercing may cause complications during child birth.
