BABIES AND
SAFETY
Children are a blessing
form God therefore it is important to take care of them and keep them safe at
all times since their safety depends on us as their parents/ guidance. The
following are tips on how to take care of a toddler (0-3 years) at home.
First of all never leave
your child unattended because this might put them at risk of being injured. To
prevent choking, check toys regularly for any small loose parts that can be
hazardous and that might lead to choking of a child after they could have
swallowed them. Avoid feeding your baby with raw pieces of hard fruits that
require too much chewing for example carrots, apples and peaches. When they are
eating teach them to sit down and be stable.
Monitor your child when
he/she is eating foods that can choke them. These foods include lollies, snacks,
nuts and meat. Keep hot food or water away from them especially when your child
is at crawling stage. Keep nappy buckets off the floor and make sure that they have
a firm well-fitting lid, also make sure that your child cannot access them to
avoid drowning.

When your child is asleep
on a bed make check /monitor them regularly. Make sure that your child do not
have access to pet bowls of food and water. Also plants can be toxic therefore
make sure that you place them where toddlers cannot access them.
